Wellsville Wrestlers Head to State

The Wellsville High School Wrestling team has had a very successful year. Fifteen student athletes participated in wrestling this year. This was the first time that Wellsville has competed with a full team in over twenty years. Not only was there quantity, this team also had quality.
Six members of the team are heading to the state tournament. Jeremiah Breen and Zach Hoehn both were regional champs. Jesse Campbell, Jesse Lamay and Vince Ryburn all finished 3rd at regionals and Johnathan Jerred qualified for state by placing 4th. The team finished 3rd at regionals with two other wrestlers just missing out on a trip to state.
In addition, Jeremiah Breen and Zach Hoehn each recorded their 100th wins this year. And Zach Hoehn was named Outstanding Regional Wrestler.
