SITE COUNCIL MEMBERS WANTED
Site councils are a vital and continuing ingredient in the collaborative effort to sustain school improvement in Kansas. State law and school accreditation require each school to have a site council. The role of the site council is to advise the school and the board of education on performance goals and objectives. A school’s site council is an advisory council that makes recommendations and suggestions to the board of education.
The law requires that site councils be composed of the building principal and representatives of the following groups:
Teachers and other school personnel
Parents of students attending the school
Other community members
