WELCOME to the Wellsville Elementary Library!
The library teacher is Lynne Evans and Terry Wood is the full time library aide.
Our goal is to create an enjoyable atmosphere in the library where students can come and develop a love of books and reading. Each class in grades K-5 attend two 30 minute library classes every week. During their scheduled library time students are taught library and research skills, so they may become confident and independent library users. They are also given time to check out books during their scheduled library time.
Library guidelines:
Kindergarten students may check out one book, first grade students may check out two books, and second through fifth grade students may check out three books at one time.
Books can be kept for two weeks before they are overdue. If students are not finished reading the books at that time they can be renewed for two more weeks by bringing the book back to the library to be scanned.
Overdue slips are sent home at least twice a nine weeks. There are no overdue fines, but students may not have more than the allowed maximum number of books checked out at one time.
Students will be held responsible for items they check out. If an item is lost or damaged a fine may be assessed.
