Wellsville Middle School FBLA (8th grade) performed well at the FBLA District VII Conference at Emporia State University on January 29. With 2 middle schools competing, the other being Carbondale Attendance Center--Santa Fe Trail, there were approximately 30 student competitors, Eleven of those competitors were from Wellsville. Wellsville Middle School placed first overall with 265 accumulated points in 9 business-related events. Once the tests and performances were completed, middle school students also participated in a team-building activity. Eleven of the 12 Wellsville Middle School students who participated, place in the Top 10 in one or more of the events. This competition allows students to prepare for competition at the Kansas FBLA State Leadership Conference in Topeka on March 30. At state, the middle school students will be competing against all middle school FBLA chapters in the state, which is eight at this time. Thanks for your support of these great kids.
