Important Graduation Announcement
Important Graduation Announcement

Good Afternoon,

We received notification today from the Governor’s office providing additional guidance on graduation ceremonies in Phase I of the reopening plan.  Unfortunately, we learned today that no in person graduation ceremonies can take place prior to Phase 2 which would be May 18th at the earliest.  However, we will have a virtual graduation event on May 16th at 2pm to honor and celebrate our students and their hard work and dedication. Additionally, a graduation ceremony has been scheduled for June 27th at 2pm to honor and reward seniors in an in person format based on what state and local health department guidelines will allow at that time.  One question that is likely to be asked is why not just move or graduation ceremony to later in May or early June.  The reason for the later date in June is to try to ensure to the best of our ability that we are in Phase II or beyond by that time.  The reality is that we have to be in Phase II at both the state and county level and we hope that the date we selected gives us the best chance to honor our seniors in an in person format.  We will continue to work with senior students and parents to finalize details for both these events.  I know that this is very disappointing not to be able to honor our students in the traditional way.  However, please know that we are working very hard to provide graduation events that will honor and celebrate our seniors and still meet guidelines at the state and county levels.  Additional information will be shared with senior students and parents next week.  Below are additional details from the notification provided today.  To our seniors -- please know that regardless of the graduation format and timeline that we are allowed to have, your leadership, hard work, and impact on us all will always be remembered and never be forgotten.  You are the reason we are here and the reason it will Always Be a Great Day to Be an Eagle!

Sincerely,

Ryan Bradbury
