Taking time out of your day to practice gratitude can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Practicing gratitude can also improve sleep and strengthen your relationships with others. Amazingly, it may even help you live longer!

Here at the Eagles’ Nest, we regularly provide an opportunity for the Wellsville High School community to share what they’re grateful for through Tell Me Something Good.

If you have something you’re grateful for and would like to share, let us know in the comments!

Special Populations Track Meet! On Tuesday, September 29, Wellsville High School FBLA hosted a special populations track meet for local schools, including Eudora, Baldwin, Bridges, and Wellsville. Athletes competed in softball throw, turbo javelin, standing and running long jump, along with wheelchair, walking, and running races. Between events, participants enjoyed parachute games, cornhole, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, keychain making, and a special Touch-a-Truck experience with our local first responders! The day ended with medals for every athlete and a well-deserved popsicle treat. What a fun day celebrating inclusion, friendship, and athletic achievement! Thank you to all who volunteered and to those who came out to support our athletes!

This August and September, our EC–5th grade Eagles are discovering Wellsville through hands-on place-based learning!

Through the KRIATE project, Wellsville teachers are partnering with Kansas State University to create lessons that connect classroom learning to our community. Students are exploring Wellsville’s history, people, places, and traditions through activities like creating Main Street murals, learning about local symbols, exploring historic buildings, studying changes in transportation, and talking with community members.

These experiences help students see their hometown in a new way while connecting their learning to the world right outside their doors.

Be sure to visit our students’ work during Wellsville Days on September 26th at the Milestone Events Center from 8:00–11:00 a.m. and celebrate the wonderful work of our students and teachers! ❤️💙🦅

Special thanks to the Patterson Family Foundation for generously funding this work and to our Wellsville teachers and KSU partners for making these learning experiences possible!
